Aida Kobusinge believes changing the world starts at inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family as foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world, one act of service at a time.
Her commitment to improving people’s faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person and in the equal rights of men and women, last week earned her the title of Bunyoro’s Miss Human Rights 2021.
Just as the former 6th U.S. President John Quincy Adams stated; “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”Kobusinge, a Kampala International University Student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management has from childhood been at the helm of service in various capacities.
‘’We keep saying that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and right and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. However, most of us continue to create a surge in discrimination, violation and mistreatment of others in society’’, elegant Kobusinge told Our Reporter.
She added that; ‘’All Human beings should constantly keep in mind and strive by teaching and education to promote respect for rights and freedoms of one another by using progressive measures. Am advocating for effective recognition and observance, both among individuals of the society and agencies’’.
Born on 18th August 1997, the soft spoken ‘queen’ from the Oil Land of Bunyoro started leadership career from school when she became the sports prefect in Primary.
While at Kitara Model Senior Secondary School in Masindi for both O&A Levels, she again emerged the Games and Sports Prefect.
‘’When I Joined University I became the Minister for Gender and Women Affairs representing Kitara Student’s Association. Have had the passion for promoting Human rights and I embarked on the same campaign at Campus’’, revealed Kobusinge.
Going by the Hungarian actress Zsa Zsa Gabor’s saying that ‘’ Being jealous of a beautiful woman is not going to make you more beautiful’’, every woman should feel delighted by Kobusinge’s quixotic looks and elegance.
Held last week at Kabalega Resort Masindi and one of their sponsors, the activities of the Bunyoro Queens pageantry and tourism in the region are vastly supported by the District Tourism Office headed by Ritah Karungi Abwooli, a Bunyoro Tourism icon
Speaking to Red pepper, Abwooli who congratulated the beauty pageants said the winners will promote Bunyoro tourism domestically and internationally.
