Capt. Mukula’s Uganda Aviation Academy Graduates Scores
Uganda Aviation Academy (UAA) held its 9th graduation ceremony at Protea hotel, Kampala on Friday, May 7.
Established in 2011, UAA is a privately owned aviation training school, the first privately owned licensed flight school in Uganda with a core mandate of addressing the dire shortage of flight professionals not only in the country but the entire East African region.
While addressing guests at the Academy’s 9th graduation ceremony, the proprietor of UAA, Captain Mike Mukula urged East African member states to reflect on opening a regional airline instead of dividing the market with various airlines.
Mukula who doubles as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairman for Eastern Uganda told guests and graduates that UAA is working through a partnership with big airlines to train staff for the aviation industry, which he says will boost Africa’s growth.
The 9th graduation registered graduands in various disciplines including Airline Cabin Crews, Airline Customer Managers, Aviation Security Awareness and IATA Fares and Ticketing Course.
Flanked by other government aviation officials, Captain Francis Babu, the Board Chairman UAA urged the graduates not to look down on jobs and work hard. Babu reassured the country that they will continue to educate the students and on how to get jobs in top companies.
With authorization from IATA,UAA and amaDUES, UAA is an aviation training school in Uganda but with students from Africa and beyond, that provides training for prospective pilots, cabin crew staff, aviation customer managers and related courses in the aviation industry.
Due to its outstanding training, Regional and international airlines, including Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Air India, Rwandair and Kenya Airways have hired the school’s graduates.
The school with three intakes; January, May and September among its enhancement include carrying out new courses, languages and partnering with giant airlines in the aviation industry.
