Ruhinda South Voters Want Businessman Kagurusi Anthony Back In 2026 Parliamentary Race

A saying by Martin Luther King (Junior), an American Baptist minister and leader in the American civil rights movement that; “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.’’ was acknowledged by the voters of Ruhinda South Constituency  in the Western District of Mitooma .

In the struggle to return the lost glory of Ruhinda South Constituency, stakeholders in the area have chosen not to remain silent on matters of getting good leadership in the near future, they have now embarked on pleading with the renowned Kampala Businessman and car dealer Anthony Kagurusi Bwanchoni, of Kags Motors not to let them down but return for the 2026 Parliamentary seat.

Kagurusi Anthony

‘’We understand Mr.Kagurusi has done his part in the past by offering himself to represent us in Parliament but some of our people were just misled and they have started regretting .However, all these years we have learnt a lesson and after these five years we are pleading with him to come and rescue us ‘’, said one of the elders from the area.

Voters argue that youthful Kagurusi has excellent programs for Ruhinda including among others establishing the RuhindaSouth Agenda, geared on development, economic re-engineering, social cohesion mechanisms, mega projects, Employment opportunities/ share of the National Cake, scholarships and Education master plan.

‘’Being a young NRM Turk with good mobilization skills, Kagurusi has already been driving NRM for discussion, dialogue/symposium, policy generation and urging for structuring to influence government programmes. Even in the recent campaigns he advocated for establishment of Ankole Regional coordination, sub region forums and link towards generating ideas, views, opinions and feedback, to enable party and Local government leaders to represent, lobby and influence government programmes, projects and interventions in order to develop the Ankole Region’’, added another female Councilor from Mitooma.

Kagurusi, aged 33 years, married from Kanganga village, Mayanga Sub-County, Mitooma District Ruhinda South constituency.

A son to Bwanchoni Mark , Kagurisi is also a procurement personnel, technician, seasoned researcher and politician.

He is the proud owner of Tropical Electronic Solutions and Kags Motors, a leading importer of new and used cars from Japan located in Nakawa, Kampala.

‘’ Being a son of the soil and raised from the same area , Kagurusi will be able to identify the problems affecting people of the area, which includes, youth unemployment, poor performance among government aided schools, lack of drugs in the health centers, poor roads among others’’, revealed a religious leader from the area.

Stakeholders argue that Political wrangles have retarded the development of Mitooma , especially in Ruhinda South , the reason they are fronting Kagurusi come 2026 who is focused on working with anyone in matters of development.

Speaking to this reporter on Phone, Kagurusi acknowledged demands by the Ruhinda stakeholders and encouraged them to remain calm and united.

‘’Of course we become leaders not because we are superior but because of the will of people .If they support me I will take up the mantle to serve them , after all we have been transforming lives in Ruhinda outside parliament. I will welcome the opportunity so that I can make more efforts to develop our area’’, Kagurusi summarily told our reporter.

Prior to Kagurusi’s 2026 Parliamentary bid , experts argue that if the ruling NRM party needs to consolidate its achievements and ideological fusion, it should empower its party young people especially to take up positions of influence.

While Africa faces a youth boom in the decades ahead, with the population expected to double by 2050, Uganda is a dramatic example with more than 75 percent of Ugandans under age 30, according to government statistics.
