NRM Chief Mobiliser Rallies City Vendors to embrace Parish Model

REDPEPPER DIGITAL — National resistance Movement (NRM), National Chief Mobiliser, formally the state Minister for Primary Education Hon. Rosemary Nsubuga Seninde, has called on all market Vendors especially in Metropolitan Kampala to embrace Parish Development Model (PDM) program.

Sseninde made these remarks on Tuesday, this week while Speaking as the chief guest at a celebrations event organised by winners of ‘Kushaba Cup tournament’ at Owino market.

According to Ms. Susan Kushaba, the Chairlady of St. Balikudembe Market (Owino), the leadership of Owino market has been much lagging behind which had created more misery than happiness and her leadership has been trying to create more structured leadership that can coordinate service delivery and tap from government programs.

She said that many people outside Owino market thinks that Owino market is comprised of old people to the contrary the market has the high percentage of it’s vendors as the Youths, the reason that forced her to create for them a tournament in order to mobilising them and boost the talents these young vibrant generation.

Kushaba explained that such categories of youth especially those living in Kampala slams (Getto) are talented in Music and sports that needs government support.

She added that when government delay to support or informe these youth on her projects and programs, it has resulted into many of them to hate the government.

“Nobody hates NRM but these young people need their wallets happy” Kushaba said. Adding that the people of Owino market didn’t receive anything like; Emyooga, Youths livelihood, Parish model among others.

She therefore asked Seninde to atleast robby for them and get some seed capital that can be injected into their SACCOs, this will boost their businesses since many of them were affected by Covid-19.

She thanked the President for always remembering and supporting with the most recent one being the Gift president gave to the ‘team NYOONYA’ – (The Crocodile).

She pledge to them Two hundred thousand (UGX 200,000) into their SACCO.

While responding to issues raised by the the Owino market Chairlady, Mrs. Seninde, thanked the leadership of market for restoring peace hope and Security that is almost creating unity working towards the Development of Owino.

She congratuted ‘Team Goonya’ upon winning the tournament. Seninde reminded the vendors how she single handedly presented petition on floor of Parliament in 2013 and among the vital issues that were raised by the current leadership of Susan Kushaba.

“I’m even more of your friend (Baddy)” she said.

Seninde lauded the wisdom and the leadership of President Museveni for guidance during the recent wrangles and challenges in Kampala market leadership that prompted him take over the management of leadership hence re-instating the interim leadership of Kushaba.

“I therefore thank the President for always thinking about the people of Owino market” Seninde said.

Concerning, Government programs and projects which normally bi-pass them, hence change of their minds of not supporting the NRM Government, the thing that has lead to an increased a lot of deception and negativity propaganda into the people of Kampala.

She assured them that they should not worry or lose hope because the President knows them than they think.

“President Museveni in his wisdom knows that people working in Kampala may not benefit in the designed program of Parish Development Model as structured in the same way as rural areas, the strategy to people of Kampala and other urban centres is to avail a designed working capital as ‘Seed Capital’, this is intended to increase your working capital since you aren’t involved in farming like those living in rural areas” she explained.

She informed them always to cooperate with government and their leaders during imprementation such programs.

“The people of Owino will directly benefit Parish Development Model program, am sure together with the cooperation with Kampala Executive Director Ms. Dorothy Kisaaka, will harness the best fruits as I mobilise and she imprements the program of Government” she said.

She notified the vendors to understand which people they alie with especially those Political opportunists and not be coarsed by their Political moves but consider what they can add into their wallets.

“In Parish Development Model program there are no Political parties, President Museveni wants everyone to benefit irrespective Party affiliation” she added.

According to Seninde, very soon there is a plan of orientating some of leaders in issues of Parish Development Model, these leaders will inturn come back and teach their fellow vendors what they will have learned.

She pledged Ugx 800,000= toping to up a Ugx 200, 000= that was earlier pledged by the Chairlady into 1M to Owino Fish traders association.

And assured them of more mobilisation of other people to bring more money. She reminded traders especially the youth work heard to the future, because NRM government has created the environment of everyone to earn a living.

“He who doesn’t work does not eat, Remember to support Government program which can improve of social well-being” she said. She ended by futher Congratulating the winners and work for for cooperation for more trophies ahead.
