A few months ago, TV star Douglas Lwanga opened up a Non-governmental organisation called Purple Skills Klinic Foundation with an aim of fighting financial illiteracy among the youths in Uganda.

Latest developments indicate that Lwanga’s project has started getting support from several individuals, organisations and well-wishers.

Reports indicate that Yellow Card Uganda has joined Purple Skills Klinic and donated $5000 to Lwanga’s organisation in a bid to ease their operations.

According to Yellow Card Uganda, the funds are to facilitate the illiteracy
aversion project that Purple Skills Klinic is undertaking.

“With this small donation, we hope through Lwanga’s initiative we can not only reach a
hand out but also leave an impact on the young people of Uganda. This is an honour for us as Yellow Card and a contribution to this country,” Abel Namureba, the Yellow Card Country manager said.

The funds are to support the financial literacy education initiative in hiring tutors and financial experts to embed financial knowledge amongst the learners in an organized masterclass sessions to be conducted by Purple Skills Klinic
Foundation.

“I am really proud that Yellow Card has decided to support us and our initiative to kick out illiteracy among the young people of Uganda. This is something we have been waiting on, we are really glad,” Lwanga, the Purple Skills Klinic Foundation Founder said.

Yellow Card looks to empowering young people in Uganda through any initiative that is available.

With this, the company looks at bringing about financial inclusion for all.
