WANTED! Kumi Watchman Defiles Step-Daughter


KUMI – A watchman attached to Bishop Ilukor Girls Secondary school in Kumi District is currently on the run after he allegedly defiled his stepdaughter aged 10 years.

A suspect Etoori Moses alias Sande a resident of Okouba Cell, Okouba Ward North Division, Kumi Municipality, Kumi District is alleged to have committed the crime on July 03, 2022, at around 2200hrs.

The case of Aggravated defilement was registered in Kumi CPS under KUMI CRB 445/2022.

Etoori was then arrested on July 04, 2022, but managed to escape from Police custody.

Asakut Diana Odongo one of the concerned area residents and a complainant in this matter told this website that Etoori committed a criminal act in the absence of his wife Elizabeth Ayano.

It’s alleged that on 03/07/2022 at around 2200hrs the suspect (Etoori) who is the step father to the victim, picked a quarrel with his wife Ayado Elizabeth who decided to leave the home for fear of being beaten by the husband Etoori Moses.

“She left him there with the victim and two other young children. It’s from that time the suspect decided to defile the 10 years old female juvenile (Names withheld),” said Asakut.

According to Asakut it’s believed that after Ayado leaving Etoori with the teenagers he decided to defile the victim who is also a pupil of Kumi primary school, Kumi Municipality, Kumi District.

“When the mother came back in the morning of July 04, 2022 from where she slept, the victim reported to her that she had been defiled by the step father Etoori Moses. She took the matter to the clan leader and the chairperson LCI, who summoned the suspect (Etoori). Chairperson advised the mother to report the matter to police which she didn’t do, instead Ayado and the suspect decided to take the victim to a clinic for treatment,” She added.

Asakut told TMC that after learning that the family had decided to conceal the matter she reported the matter to police.

Victim disappearance

According to Asakut on July 15, 2022, she reported a matter of disappearance of the victim to Kumi police whom she said visited and arrested the victim’s mother (Ayado).

She noted that she opened a case of disappearance under vide SD ref 46/15/07/2022 with the help of one police officer she identified as Okiror Andrew.
