Three people have been charged with the murder of city businessman Eria Ssebunya Bugembe, alias Kasiwukira.
They include a police officer Jaden Ashraf, attached to Muyenga community police station, Nabikolo Sarah Ssebunya, the widow and her sister Nankungu Sandra. The trio was charged with murder contrary to section 188 and 189 of the penal code act.
Prosecution told the magistrates court in Makindye that the suspects, while at Muyenga diplomat zone in Kampala, planned the murder of Eria Ssebunya Bugembe. Bugembe, popularly known as Kasiwukira, was knocked dead in Muyenga, a city suburb in October.
Grade one Magistrate George Watyekere did not allow them to take plea saying the charge is a capital offence to which his court did not have jurisdiction.
State prosecutor Akello Beatrice said investigations in the matter are still ongoing and asked court for more time to enable the state gather evidence.
They were remanded until December 22 when they return to court for mention of the case.
