President Museveni on Saturday gave Arch Bishop Paul K Bakyenga 10 heifers as a gift and donated 80 million towards construction of the church’s shopping mall at the latter’s Episcopal Silver Jubilee cerebrations.
“Archbishop Paul K. Bakyenga celebrated his Episcopal Silver Jubilee at Nyamitanga in Mbarara. President Museveni was the chief guest. The President gave a gift of ten heifers to the Archbishop and announced a government donation of Shs 80 million towards the Church’s shopping mall project,” Lindah Nabusayi, president’s deputy press secretary said on Saturday evening
The Archbishop also received 25 cows from the faithful and three from other well wishers.
Mr. Museveni who was the chief guest lauded Bakyenga for his contribution to education and health initiatives and for preaching unity.
President further advised religious leaders to intensify the campaign for commercial agriculture to improve food security and household incomes.
