Police in Kampala has warned people planning to spend the festive season in entertainment spots to be cautious of terrorist activity.
According to Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the Police Spokesperson, people should be watchful of themselves and make sure they are in places that are well off security wise.
“You must be aware of terrorism, Police will order closure of any public place that will be found wanting and has a high security risk,” Kaweesi said.
He said this on Monday while at a news conference at the police headquarters in Naguru.
Kaweesi also issued stringent guidelines for beach goers during this season.
“Only persons that are 16 and above are allowed to swim, people who are drinking are not supposed to go swimming. Swimming must end by 6pm and people should be decently dressed.”
Kaweesi also warned that anybody caught disturbing the peace or driving while drunk over the Christmas season will be jailed and released in the new year.
