Bobby To Make Changes As Cranes Target Quarters

Uganda Cranes celebrate the goal against Kenya

Uganda Cranes coach Bobby Williamson is expected to change his striking line when the cranes face Ethiopia Today.

“I will see how guys will be before the match and we could see some changes” the Scottish Tactician said.

CECAFA champions and hosts Uganda will have their sights on the quarters when they play the Walya Antelopes at Namboole stadium.

Uganda Cranes will go into the game without custodian Abel Dhaira who was ruled of the rest of the tournament after he cracked his jaw in Uganda’s 1 – 0 win over Kenya on Saturday.

Hamza Muwonge is expected to replace Dhaira.

The two sides both have three points and a win for either of them will book them a place in the quarter finals of the competition.

Bobby is expected to make some changes in the striking department “We have four strikers and they are all capable. We could use may be three, may be two, may be one but we wont have all four on” he said.

He is however most likely to retain Emma Okwi who showed some sharpness during Monday’s training session with Robert Ssentongo expected to replace either Umony or Hamis Kiiza.

The midfielder and back line are also expected to remain unchanged.

Although the Ethiopians were not convincing in their 1- 0 win over South Sudan, Coach Bobby Williamson will not take them lightly.

Uganda and Ethiopia have met 24 times each winning eight times, same number of draws and losses. A win for either of the two will see them through to the quarters.

In the other game today, Kenya will play tournament debutants South Sudan in a game that begins at 4pm Ugandan Time.
