Body Builder Byekwaso Scoops September Nile-USPA Accolade

Body Builder, Ivan Byekwaso aka Mr. Universe has scooped the Nile Special/USPA Sports Personality award of September 2015.

Byekwaso won the monthly prestigious accolade on 585 points beating badminton star Edwin Ekiring who had 465 points.

The 37 year old body builder won a gold medal at the 67 edition INBA Natural Universe Body Building Championships in Texas, USA last month to become the only East African to clinch to the accolade.

Meanwhile, first runner-up Edwin Ekiring won a bronze medal at the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville last month.

USPA president Sabiiti Muwanga commended Byekwaso for raising the Uganda flag high at the event.

“I am happy for Ivan Byekwaso for his individual effort to excel, he has done his part but I urge the federation to lay structures for the game to bring on board other body builders,” Muwanga noted.

The same event also witnessed other sports personalities commended for their great showpiece in last month.

Masaza Cup side, Ssingo and Mbogo clan were applauded for clinching to the 2015 Masaza Cup and Bika Byabaganda football trophies respectively.
