Bridge International Schools Must Close — High Court
The High Court in Kampala has today ordered the immediate closure of Bridge International schools over failure to meet minimum sanitation requirements of operation.
Justice Patricia Basaza Wasswa observed that Bridge International Schools are operating in contravention of the laws convening education and that their requests under judicial review to prevail over the education ministry not to close their schools could not stand.
This website understands that in August 2016, Parliament ordered the Bridge International Academies to close its schools for failing to meet the required standards.
The report came from Education International, which represents teachers’ unions around the world.
Upon receiving the report, officials inspected the Bridge international academies and revealed poor infrastructure, hygiene, and sanitation that “put the life and safety of the school children in danger.”
Bridge International has been funded by the World Bank, the UK’s Department for International Development, Bill Gates and others
