Busted: Another Ugandan LGBT suspected couple exposed
The space for LGBT people keeps shrinking every day that passes.
Ever since the Ndorwa West MP David Bahati tabled the draconian Anti-Homosexuality Bill which calls for a death sentence against the culprits, several LGBT people live in fear for their lives, especially whenever they get exposed in the media or their localities.
Nagujja Doreen, a resident of Wakiso district, and Nassali Mary, a resident of Entebbe municipality, are the latest couple to fall victim to the homophobia in Uganda after their steamy pictures were leaked in the media and caused untold shock to their family members and relatives.
Sources reveal that their luck ran out when unidentified people leaked their pictures to a certain media house as proof of the rumours that had been going around, to the effect that they are intimately involved.
Following the leakage of their photos in the media, several leaders in the country, among them a renowned Pastor, criticized the two and argued that these are the same people misusing their offices by breaking the laws of this country, since both were former employees of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
We have since established that the police also got involved in the matter and started hunting for them to answer charges Anti-LGBT related charges which reportedly prompted them to flee into hiding.
Although their whereabouts have remained unknown to their relatives for a long time now, there are rumours which are yet to be verified, indicating that Nagujja’s lover Nassali flew out to Europe or the United States of America to an unknown destination when things took a wrong turn for her in Uganda.
To date, efforts to reach Nagujja have proven to be futile since her phone is always in busy mode whenever friends and relatives call it.
However, whereas Nagujja and Nassali continue to live in hiding, it’s important to note that several other LGBT people, couples and activists continue to get arrested and jailed, while others have resorted to always being on the run, for fear of being persecuted by Ugandan authorities under the Anti-homosexuality stance.
