Butebo By-Elections: NRM Candidates To Hold Joint Campaigns

The joint campaign for candidates vying in the NRM primaries for Butebo county MP by-elections get underway this afternoon. The Butebo county MP seat fell vacant on April 12, 2013 following the death of the area MP Dr. Stephen Mallinga. 

Seven candidates were nominated last week to contest in the NRM primaries scheduled for May 11, 2013.

They are Beatrice Asire Mallinga, the widow to the late Mallinga, Dr. Monica Musenero, Dr. Patrick Mutono Lodoi, Kepher Kuchana, Richard Oseku, Samuel Kedi and Musosa, a Lecturer at IUIU. Professor Elijah Mushemeza, the NRM Electoral Commission chairperson says the NRM campaigns are scheduled to start this afternoon.

Mushemeze says that the candidates will have joint rallies to market their programs to the electorates. He says the candidates, including two women and five men, are extremely good adding that, whoever sails through will be the best candidate to carry the party flag. Electoral Commission has set June 6 as the date for the Butebo county MP by-elections.
