Musicians Chameleone And Ssemakula Unite During Kyalimpa Launch

Everyone was shocked when the MC introduced Jose Chameleon during Mesach Semakula’s ‘Kyalimpa’ album launch at Hotel Africana on Friday. Chameloen is said to have been a long time enemy to Semakula.

Chameleone performed his Badilisha hit and was joined then by Ssemakula who thanked him for showing maturity in building Uganda’s music industry.

“People have always misled me into thinking that Chameleone hates me and that is why I never invited him to my concerts. But he surprised me today when he came straight to me and told me he has no problem with me and wanted to sing at my concert,” Ssemakula said. The two hugged and Ssemakula called on people to support Chameleone in his upcoming Badilisha concert.

Dressed in black with a light blue jacket, Ssemakula made his grand entrance at 10:30pm. All the fans, mostly women, joined him [on his knees] as he opened with his thanksgiving song to his fans, Nyimbira Bawagizi Bange.

Among the curtain raisers was Pastor Bugembe who got everyone on their feet as they joined him in his Biriba  Bitya single and a new one,Sarafina.

And excitement heightened when Bobi Wine and Bebe Cool successively took to the stage without a punch flying. Still, the two could not hide their feud as Bebe dedicated his new song Coccidiosis to Bobi Wine, who, in return, dedicated his By Far hit to Bebe. Bobi also performed his hit single, Jennifer, hitting at Kampala Capital City Authority’s Executive Director Jennifer Musisi for banning concert posters in the city.

Also in attendance were Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, Col Felix Kulayigye, and kickboxer Ronald Mugula, among others. The turnout was massive that by 9pm, one could hardly get space to stand both in the VIP and ordinary sections.
