City tycoon Hassan Basajjabalaba To Be Arrested

By Serestino Tusingwire

Court has today Monday 29th August, 2016 issued another arrest warrant for city tycoon Hassan Basajjabalaba over public nuisance case he committed last year.

It is reported that on 11th September, 2015 Basajjabalaba alongside two Tabliq Muslim leaders forcefully displaced people at Queens Way along Entebbe Road and the scuffle created public nuisance.

It is remembered that that is the time when Pope Francis was in Uganda for a 2-day visit.

Basajjabalaba and his colleagues have reportedly failed to show up in court on various occasions despite the issuance of arrest warrants since November last year.

City Hall Court grade one magistrate Moses Nabende has therefore decided to further extend the arrest warrant to September 15 when the court will sit over the same matter.

It therefore remains unclear why the three are failing to appear in court and the police is not acting about it.
