Court Martial Takes Over Kitatta Criminal Case

The Court Martial will, going forward handle all cases labeled against Boda Boda 2010 leader Abdallah Kitatta and his colleagues.

Kitatta who was arrested two weeks ago and 12 others are charged with ‘unlawful possession of military hardware and failure to protect war material.’

The decision to refer the cases to Court Martial was reached by the Unit Disciplinary Court of the army which sat Friday at the CMI headquarters in Mbuya, Kampala chaired by Col. Tom Kabuye.

Deputy army spokesperson Lt. Col. Deo Akiiki confirmed the development.

Kitatta had applied for bail through his lawyers led by Joseph Kiryowa from Joseph Kiryowa and Company Advocates but the prayer was denied and the accused sent back to Kigo Prison on remand.
