COVID-19 Claims Kabale Businessman

Kabale – Grief has gripped the Kabale business community after losing prominent tycoon, Christopher Batare to COVID-19.

Batare, the Proprietor of Kings Hotel, one of the big hotels in Kabale, had been admitted on Saturday at Kabale Regional Referral hospital after developing Covid-19 symptoms.

The late Batare breathed his last on Sunday night at 11.15 pm.

Sharon Batare, one of the deceased’s daughters, took to her face book page eulogize the fallen giant.

“Today will always be one of the darkest days of my life. I received the unfortunate news of my dad’s passing a few hours ago due to the deadly covid 19,” said the sorrowful Batare.

She added: “I have so much to write about this amazing gentleman but words fail me at this moment. May God rest his perfect soul in perfect peace.”

Batare, 61, was born Kagugo village, Kitoma parish Rubaya sub-county Kabale district.

The deceased had also been a forex changer based in Kabale town and equally operating at the Uganda- Rwanda border of Katuna.

The death of Batare comes a few days after losing Bishop Johnson Bakashaba, another public figure in Kabale Municipality as well the former Kabale LC5 Boss Patrick Besigye Keihwa.

Uganda has to date lost 903 people to COVID-19; other 51,348 have fully recovered as 1,230 patients are still battling the scourge in different health facilities
