Cranes Storm CECAFA Cup Quarters, Face Malawi

Thirteen record Cup winners, Uganda Cranes have progressed to the quarter finals of the 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup following a 1-0 win over Burundi in the last Group B match played at Awassa Kanema International Stadium in Ethiopia on Saturday.

Brought in URA FC striker Frank Kalanda scored the only goal of the game during the 69^th minute to help Cranes book a slot through the Cup quarter finals.

Cranes tacticians made three changes introducing goal scorer Frank Kalanda ahead of Muzamir, Denis Okoth with Ceaser Okhuti before Erisa Ssekisambu paved way for Isaac Muleme.

Uganda thus topped Group B with 6 points ahead of Burundi and Kenya who tied on 4 points each while Zanzibar managed only to secure (3).

Uganda is to face guest Malawi in the quarter finals on Monday 30^th.
