Dhaira Clarifies His Word Over Simba Exit

Uganda Cranes goal keeper Abel Dhaira has insisted he is not angry with Tanzanian giants Simba SC after he was offloaded, despite sadly confirming to RedPepper Online edition  on Sunday morning of  his disappointment at the manner in which the deal happened.

“Although it was not my decision to leave I will accept it just like I have always accepted any decision that Simba have taken for me,” Dhaira who now is in Kampala said. “They signed me, picked me, gave me some of the best experiences of my life and looked after me since i left Iceland.

The Jinja native also disclosed that he had been shown exit from the club on grounds that he was giving away matches on a regular basis and the 3 goals that they scored him against Yanga added to the edge to the allegations. “Before the end of the first round of the league, one of the leaders at the club was blaming me for giving away matches,” he was quoted recently.

TFF, The Tanzanian football governing body also stated a new law to all the clubs that no team will need to use foreign goal keepers in the Tanzania Vodacom league.

I’m not angry with Simba – quite the opposite. I am very grateful to them for everything they have given me,” he said.

“My departure was different to what I expected, but I will always be grateful to them.

Dhaira started his career as first choice goalie for  Express FC in 2006 before moving to URA in 2008. In 2010, Dhaira signed for Congolese side AS Vita, before moving to IBV(Íþróttabandalag Vestmannaeyja) of Iceland a year later where he was a regular before moving to Simba SC early this year. Romour awash Kampala indicates that the 26-year-old is in final arrangements to go back to Iceland in January 2013 for a second stint with IBV.
