Former presidential candidate, Amama Mbabazi on Sunday came out his silence and poured praise on the Uganda Cranes Football team.
This was after the team qualified for Africa’s prestigious football tournament to be held in Gabon next year.
“Congratulations #UgandaCranes! You got the victory you worked for and clearly deserved. You are just the best. You make all Ugandans proud,” Amama who hardly missed Cranes games while he served as premier tweeted on Sunday evening.
He had earlier wished the team luck saying, “I stand with the rest of Ugandans in wishing our team #UgandaCranes the very best. We shall win!”
Uganda finally booked a historic place at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon next January after seeing off a stubborn Comoros side 1-0 at a fully packed Namboole Stadium in Kampala.
The Cranes qualify as one of the best second-placed teams as Burkina Faso won Group D after beating Botswana 2-1 in Ouagadougou.
