Police Chief Kale Kayihura’s

“Uganda alone cannot fight this scourge (terrorism) unless we have a concerted effort from regional and international level,” Lt. Gen. Kayihura said this in a speech read for him by the Director Human Resource management, Charles Birungi at the opening of Post Blast Counter Terrorism Investigators training at Kireka Sports view Hotel, Kampala on Monday.

The IGP also lauded the sponsors of the training saying; “I want to extend my sincere thanks to the Institute of Security Studies (ISS) and the Interpol Regional Bureau of East Africa for the support they have extended to the whole of the EAPCCO member states in terms of extending such trainings geared towards the fight against this global threat of terrorism”.

EAPCCO is composed of countries from the East African Region which includes Uganda, Burundi, Kenya, Seychelles, Tanzania, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, and Eritrea.

The training has attracted over 30 personnel from all the 12 countries of EAPCCO. It will run for three weeks.
