The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Celestino Obua on behalf of Mbarara University of Science and Technology Community, congratulates H.E T.Y.K. Museveni upon being re-elected for the 5th Term of Office as the President of the Republic of Uganda. Your excellence we as the MUST community are so indebted to you for the support rendered to MUST.

Through the Minister of Education and Sports, MUST has achieved a lot of growth support, as evidenced by the ever-increasing numbers of relevant science and technology programs, in addition to a growing number of staffs and students. There has been infrastructural development and promotion of Innovation and Technology application in all faculties. This would not have been possible without the guidance of Hon. Janat Kataha Museveni, First Lady and Minister of Education of Education and Sports. We are so grateful for your stewardship of the education sector.

Your Excellency, MUST has grown in terms of enrollment which currently stands at a population of 5345 students, with high completion rates. During the 27th Graduation ceremony, on 24th April 2021, the university graduated A total of 1,274 graduands were, 24 PhDs, 153 Masters, 1040 bachelor’s degrees and 57 diplomas. Some of the PhDs and Masters graduates were academic members of staff funded by the Government of Uganda through various funding mechanisms such as the African Development HEST program and the World Bank-supported African Centers of Excellence at MUST.

This is evidence of capacity building for graduate studies and research. This could not have been possible without the peaceful and accommodative environment the NRM Government ushered in making it possible for workers in Uganda to accomplish the plans that were envisioned in the ten-point program of the NRA/NRM.  Your HE President TYK Museveni, the entire MUST community appreciates your vision for Uganda and particularly for MUST on this Labour Day celebration. We wish you and your government more success as you steer the country towards middle economy status.

Succeed we MUST!
