Fox Odoi, the West Budama Member of parliament is in trouble for alleged breach of contract.

Odoi has been dragged by Picfare Industries to the commercial court for alleged breaching a consultancy agreement, which cost the firm US $ 100,000.

Through Nabukenya Mulalira advocates, Picfare Industries contends that on 14th March this year, it appointed Odoi as a consultant and entered into a contract with him to secure plots 45-51 along Nasser road within 90 days in vain.

According to the suite, in consideration of Odoi’s services, Picfare Industries deposited US $ 100,000 on the MPs account in Standard Chartered Bank. In return, Odoi allegedly issued Picfare Industries 10 cheques from his bank, which they would bank in case he fails to deliver within the specified 90 days.

The MP allegedly failed to deliver as agreed. As a result, on June 25th 2013, Picfare Industries deposited the cheques in an attempt to recover the money but they were dishonored because of insufficient funds on Odoi’s accounts.

Picfare Industries claims that Odoi has ignored all reminders to pay up, which has left the company with no option but to petition court to compel him to refund the money.

Thadeus Opisen, the deputy registrar of the commercial court has given Odoi ten days to file his defense.
