FUFA under Fire For Printing More Tickets Than Stadium Capacity

The police have directed Uganda cranes fans who were denied access to the Comoros game on Sunday on grounds that the stadium was already filled to capacity, to go to FUFA offices and claim for their money.

Speaking at the weekly press briefing at Naguru on Monday, Police spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi said that the police was forced to stop fans from entering despite having tickets because the stadium was already full.

“The stadium was filled to capacity and we were forced to stop thousands from entering the stadium yet they had tickets. We took the decision to avoid surging in of the stadium,” he said.

“I want to urge the fans with genuine tickets but were denied access to go to FUFA offices and demand refund, hopefully this will be a lesson to FUFA mangers,” Kaweesi added.

He said they will start involving police in the issuance of Namboole tickets to prevent stampedes during big matches because it’s a security threat when people stay outside the stadium.
