The prime suspect in last week’s gruesome slaughter attack at a daycare centre in Makindye Division has been charged with murder and remanded to Luzira government prison.
Christopher Okello Onyum, 34 was on Tuesday arraigned before the Makindye Chief Magistrates Court and four counts of murder contrary to sections 171 and 172 of the Penal Code Act read against him.
The state told court that on April, 2, at Ggaba Childhood Development Centre, Onyum with malice aforethought, unlawfully caused the death of Ignatius Sseruyange, Ryan Odeke, Keisha Ogenorwoth Otim and Gideon Oteku.
The accused was however not allowed to take plea since the matter is only triable by the High Court.
The state was represented by chief State Attorney Jonathan Muwaganya.
The trial grade one magistrate Aidah Nanjala remanded the accused to Luzira until Wednesday for mention of the charges.
