Independent Presidential Candidate, Amama Mbabazi denies having a hand in the death of former Ministry of Defense Permanent Secretary, Brig. Noble Mayombo.
Mbabazi was on Tuesday addressing a campaign rally at Boma Grounds in Fort Portal.
According to Mbabazi, he has been hearing rumours linking him to the death, but he kept quiet and had not got a right time to speak about it.
“I have been hearing rumours that I had a hand in Mayombo’s death. How can that be?” Mbabazi asked.
Mbabazi also defended himself that a government committee set up to probe Mayombo’s death never mentioned his name in their report.
“Mayombo was one of my best friends in government. How then can I have had a hand in his death? The probe committee by the government did not implicate me,” Mbabazi added amidst silence from the crowd.
