Former Presidential Press secretary Tamale Mirundi has scoffed at those saying that he has been demoted by insisting that he was promoted.
“I have been promoted,” Mirundi told a local television in a telephone interview adding; “there are no promotional structure in state house.”
“How can you be dropped and be given a job? I am a senior man now. Doesn’t Nagenda talk?” Mirundi asked.
Mirundi was reshuffled on Friday evening and replaced by his deputy Linda Nabusayi as Presidential Press secretary.
The reshuffle brought his 13year reign in the docket to an end.
Prior to the reshuffle Mirundi went on radio stations blasting Minister for Presidency Frank Tumwebaze, Presidential private secretary Nakalema, senior presidential advisor on defense and security, Nalweyiso and unequivocally saying that they will never frustrate him to serve president Museveni.
On radio shows, Mirundi had also started hinting at President Museveni saying that he could lose the presidency to former prime minister and now arch rival Amama Mbabazi who has declared interests of taking over state house.
In a video clip uploaded on YouTube two weeks ago, Mirundi was recorded saying; “Museveni is tired….he cannot hold the country together even in state house they are fighting. These are facts.”
