Kasujja said he won’t make it because of other engagements.

“I will not be moderating the next Presidential Debate because of other commitments,” he tweeted yesterday.

However, the former Capital FM Big Breakfast presenter believes “the second one will be even better.”

Kasujja and KTN news anchor Ms Nancy Kacungira who is doing an internship programme at BBC were chosen as moderators for the first round of presidential debate that took place on January 15 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

Alan Kasujja was attacked by Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) supporters when he questioned FDC presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye’s inconsistencies and basing his campaigns on criticizing president Museveni

“I am pleasantly surprised you are here. You had said if Museveni had not shown up you would not be here. This suggests this is as about you and Museveni,” Kasujja questioned Besigye. “You are making your entire campaign about Museveni. Is this right or wrong?”

He probed Besigye on his continuous standing as FDC’s candidate in several presidential elections.

“Some people will say that what you trying to do here – what Museveni is doing in NRM is not different from FDC. You have been standing as candidate for FDC for last 15 years without debunking Mr Museveni. Why not give opportunity to other people to try?”

Kasujja was incessantly attacked by Besigye supporters on social media after the debate. He was portrayed as a Museveni sympathizer.
