President Museveni Pays Tribute to St Janani Luwum

Born in Kitgum district in 1924, Archbishop Janani Luwum was murdered on February 16, 1977 by then President Idi Amin Dada, during what is historically referred to as ‘The Dark History of Uganda.’  This followed a period of great tension, agitation and ugly showdown with Amin and his regime from the world at large.

Today, Uganda is celebrating his legacy of reconciliation at a memorial which has brought together persons from different walks of life.
