Jazz maestros set for African tour

Jazz music lovers really have a reason to smile. Jazz and beats African tour is already in full effect for the enthusiasts of the genre.


Information reaching us has it that Uganda’s Brian Mugenyi has teamed up with celebrated drummer Eric Smith from Norway, Joseph Hellon the Maestro from Kenya, and Banana Zorro from Tanzania for the jazz African tour.

According to the info we have, it will officially kick off on 27th May at Golf course hotel hosted by celebrated MC Mitch Egwang.

Part of the proceedings from the tickets sold for the event will be given to Starkey Hearing Foundation an NGO which provides hearing aid to people in need in East Africa.

As part of the event, Eric Smith will also conduct master drum clinics, an idea where he wants to provide a platform to nurture talent especially in Africa where it has not been prioritized by many parents and the youth themselves.

Speaking to snoops prior to the show, Eric Smith the drummer said “I am very excited to be part of this event and to be coming to this part of the continent for the very first time. I have performed in North Africa and South Africa but I hadn’t had a chance to come and visit East Africa. I have heard a lot of good things about the East African countries and I can’t wait to come and perform in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.”
