Katikiro Names New Kingdom Board
Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikiro of Buganda Kingdom on Monday unveiled the new board of the Buganda Cultural and Development Foundation-BUCADEF.
Erostus Nsubuga is the new board chairperson. Other members are Ishak Kasule Lukenge as deputy Vice chairperson, Dr. Goretti Nabanoga, Samuel Mubiru Kizito, Brig Andrew Lutaaya, kalule Sewali, Dr. Speciosa Namwebe Kiwanuka, Dr. Moses Kizza Musaazi, Prof Kitungulu Zaake, Tyaba Bazilio, Haji Misi kakomo and Sarah Mayanja Lubega.
The new board was unveiled on Monday afternoon at Bulange Mengo. The Katikiro tasked the board to revive coffee growing in the kingdom, Banana Plantations, create ready market for produce and preserve the environment.
Mayiga said once the four areas are covered, people in the kingdom will be able to earn a daily and sustainable income and improve their welfare. He said once people are impoverished they can’t preserve their culture.
Mayiga said the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi directed him to ensure that the People in his kingdom earn at least three thousand shillings daily.
Erostus Nsubuga, the BUCADEF board chairperson pledged to create a change in the Kingdom within a space of threes in line with the key areas the kingdom’s premier has prioritized.
He advised people in Buganda who love to grow in business and to develop their Nation to grow food since the country has ample soils for agriculture.
