The police spokesperson, also the director of human resource in the Uganda Police Force AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi warned that the deserters of Anti-terrorism training course will face disciplinary action.

Of the 421 trainees who started the course, only 205 managed to complete it and 216 deserted the training saying the training conditions are intolerable.

The revelation came during the pass out ceremony of 205 officers who completed the four months course at Nakasongola army barracks on Friday last week.

According to Kaweesi, there are those who applied to desert the course and others deserted without permission.                                                                                                                                                                                 “Those who decided to run without permission are the ones who will undergo the disciplinary process, and the disciplinary process has already started,” Kaweesi said.

Kaweesi during his first press conference as the police spokesperson on Monday this week vowed not to be silent on any unprofessional conduct in the force.
