KCC-Villa Draw, Rwenshama Ground Vipers’ Unbeaten Run

Herman Wasswa and Steven Bengo’s spot kicks earned KCCA and SC Villa a 1-1 draw during their Uganda Premier League tie at the Philip Omondi Stadium-Lugogo.

KCCA who came into the game with an eye of reducing a four points difference between Villa and them only settled for a draw with the first half of the match having been in control of the visitors.

Villa through Steven Bengo opened up the score line in the 32nd minute after Owen Kasule fouled Augustine Nsumba into the eighteen yards ark and Centre referee Dennis Bate had no choice but to award the penalty in favour of the Blues.

Michael Birungi and Herman Wasswa replaced William Wadri and Baker Lukoya respectively.

The duo had struggled to break Villa’s backline of Hassan Wasswa and Fahad Kawoya who formerly played for the Lugogo based side.

In the 72nd minute, Fahad Kawooya tackled KCCA’s Timothy Awani in the box; Dennis Bate awarded a penalty to the hosts and the second in the game.

Herman Wasswa scored by forcing SC Villa’s Nickolas Ssebwato to dive left with the ball passing on the right into the net.

From then, Abdallah Mubiru’s men dominated the match with continuous attacks at Sc Villa goal but Hassan Wasswa worked hard to stop KCC’s Michael Birungi and Herman Wasswa

At Nakivubo stadium, underdogs Rwenshama put to end SC Vipers’ unbeaten run after winning 2-1.
