JKL Lady Dolphins still the better side

JKL Lady Dolphins are still unbeaten in the women’s division of the regular season of the 2022 Tusker Lite National Basketball League (NBL). This is after they beat Magic Stormers 87-83 over the weekend at the MTN Arena, Lugogo in Kampala.
The slim win over Magic Stormers ensures that JKL Lady Dolphins stretch their lead at the top of the table to 36 points (from 18 games). Second placed UCU Lady Canons have 30 points off 13 wins and four losses.
With the regular season set to wind down in a few weeks time, JKL Lady Dolphins will now seek to finish the campaign on a high as they aim to defend the women’s title of the NBL when playoffs tip off.
JKL’s engine has been further lubricated by impressive display from Kenyan Centre Taudenciah Oluoch who has been posting double double ever since she joined the side mid-season.
Against Magic Stormers, Taudenciah posted a double double of 24 points,23 rebounds and 1 assist and her standout displays are now becoming regular in the regular season.
Other top performers for JKL on Sunday included Hope Akello with 15 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists, Brenda Ekone with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists including Ritah Immanishimwe with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist.
In a losing effort, standout players for Magic Stormers included Diana Letaru with 24 points, 13 points and 4 rebounds and Rachel Nanyonga with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assist.
The Tusker Lite National Basketball League returns on Wednesday at Lugogo with two games on card. As usual, it will be ladies . night where the female access the arena for free.
