Kyabazinga Hails Luuka Plastics, Urges Ugandans to Support Local Manufacturers

The Kyabazinga of Busoga Wilberforce William Nadiope Gabula IV has called upon Ugandans to support local manufacturers by buying their products.

His Majesty Gabula made the plea while on a visit to Luuka Plastics factory as part of an effort to promote the use of locally sourced and locally produced goods and services.

Led by the company’s Managing Director, Hajj Badru Muwanga, the Kyabazinga visited Kawempe, Matugga winding up the day with Namanve Plant.

Accompanied by Owek.Ivan Kiirya (Finance Minister) who represented the Kingdom Premier-Owek.Dr.Joseph Muvawala, Owek.Dr.Najib Lukooya Bateganya (Environment and Natural Resources),Owek.Yudaya Babirye (Kyabazinga Affairs) Omuk.Alfred Okurut, the King commended Hajj Muwanga and team for the job well done.

“From all the places that we have been too throughout the day, am really impressed with what I saw. It’s a whole chain and there’s no wastage of your items during the production process”, the Kyabazinga observed adding that empowering and supporting locally made products will go a long way in addressing unemployment thereby alluding to government’s current campaign of Buy Uganda Build Uganda (BUBU).

The King also thanked management for creating a conducive environment that has enabled employment opportunities to thrive.

On his part, Owek.Kiirya asked the Managing Director and the board to prioritize establishing another entity of Luuka Plastics in Busoga.

“We are proud of you as our own.We are delighted that you’re part of the team fighting unemployment in our country on top of remitting taxes.However,we implore you to establish another Luuka Plastics factory in Busoga”, Owek. Ivan proposed.

The Managing Director flanked by the board of directors, top management and staff welcomed the King to their respective investments and took the audience through the cradle of their company.

Noting that their current business started in 20004 as Luuka Enterprises before metamorphosing into Luuka Plastics later, employs over 1300 workers across the board.

“We have come a long way to where we are today.God/Allah has been gracious to us and we owe our success to the almighty.Our products are of good quality and we don’t compromise on standards as a company”, he revealed.
