Latest UPDF Reshuffle: Ankunda Dropped, Nalweyiso Promoted

The Commander in Chief of Armed forces, President Museveni has made yet another reshuffle, days after the major reshuffle that saw top commanders reassigned other responsibilities.

In the latest army reshuffle which has been released this morning, the renowned UPDF spokesperson Col. Paddy Ankunda has been dumped and replaced with Col. Richard Kalemeire who has been promoted to Brigadier.

In another reshuffle, Brig. Proscovia Nalweyiso has been promoted to the rank of Major General becoming the highest female ranking officer in UPDF history.

Maj. Gen. Nakibus Lakara has been appointed commander, rapid response center.

Brig. Henry Matsiko has been appointed Chief Political Commissar, replacing Col. Felix Kulayigye.

Brig. Paul Lokech has appointed Commander Second Division replacing Peter Elwelu who was appointed to head land forces.

Brig. Sam Kavuma has been appointed Deputy Commander, Air force.

Col. Igumba has also been promoted to Brig. General, becomes the new Chief of Personnel  and Administration.

Col. Michael Kabango has been promoted to Brig. and appointed 5th Division Commander replacing Sam Kavuma.

On Thursday, President Museveni promoted Brigadier Joseph Musanyufu to the rank of Major General and appointed him the Joint Chief of Staff (JCOS) of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces.
