M7 Commends Makerere for Extending knowledge to Rural Areas

President Museveni has commended Makerere University College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio-security for extending knowledge closer to communities.

President Museveni was the chief guest at the college’s third certificate awarding ceremony at Rukoni Sub County, Ruhaama, Ntungamo district yesterday.

Graduates were awarded with certificates in skills, production, enterprise development and academics.

President Museveni was flanked by first Lady Janet Musevni who is the area Member of Parliament, Makerere University Chancellor Prof. Mondo Kagonyera among others.

At the function Mr. Museveni inspected shoe and other product stalls by graduates of Africa Institute for Strategic Services Development (AFRISA).

AFRISA is a Not-For Profit semi-autonomous Agency of Makerere University, a platform for advancing Industrial and Development Higher Education to transform society and contribute to national development through Animal Resources.

It operates as an Academic-Community-Public-Private Partnership where the university works with the private and public sectors to train and deliver services.
The programmes are run in the College of Veterinary, Animal Resources and Bio-security (COVAB).

They are all accredited by the National Council for Higher Education and coordinated at the Africa Institute for Strategic Animal Resource Services and Development (AFRISA).
