Makerere University Suspends 15 Students For Stealing Forks, Plates & Cups

Makerere University Kampala has suspended 15 students for engaging into a fight which happened on 18th October, 2016 between residents of Mitchel Hall and University Hall and it led to loss of university property including forks, plates and cups.
The university says, the violence caused damages of property worth millions and others were stolen.
Properties that were damaged include chairs, cup and plates, dining tables and doors, plus a fridge.
According to the suspension letter, the 15 suspended students have to vacate their halls of residence with effect from today 25th October and are bared not to participate in any university activity until when their issues are resolved by the university’s disciplinary committee.
The suspended students are; Nayebare Donart (Bsc. Elec. Eng), Tworo Aziz (Bsc. Elec. Eng), Ndugwa Fahad (Bsc. Cons. Forestry), Mugume Joseph [BA(A)], Taremwa Solomo (LLB), Kayiira Francis (BAR), Mambule Timothy (B. Civ. Eng), Ayesiga Justus (B. Civ. Eng), Kigenyi James (B.PHARM), Wabugoya Gerrad (LLII), Wanyera Simon (BA/ED), Abit May Francis (CFP), Kigula Samuel (MAM), Njalira Kassim Rashid (B.VET), Ashabahebwa Rodger (Bsc. Elec. Eng).
The University constitution strongly condemns acts of this kind and heavy punishment awaits them when the disciplinary committee sits over this issue.
