A man and his wife have been found dead at their home in Nawambwa village, Nankoma Sub County, Bugiri district.
Police believe the man killed his wife and then hung himself.
The couple have been identified as Zakayo Yaledi Wabwire (35) and his wife Hellen Naigaga (25).
The couple were last seen alive on Wednesday evening.
A neighbour Godfrey Idhuma claims that he had the couple bickering before he went to bed at about 9pm.
Richard Musisi, Bugiri district police commander, says Wabwire accused his wife Naigaga of having extramarital affairs. Wabwire accused his wife of having affairs with men in the village whenever he was away on business in Kampala.
Police estimate that Wabwire strangled Naigaga and killed her at about 4am Thursday morning.
Wabwire then hung himself on a mango tree in his compound where his body was found.
Idhuma says the couple had two infants, one is three years old and the other is one year old.
Wabwire was the son of Nawambwa village LCI Chairman Samuel Batuli.
Police says the bodies have been taken to Bugiri hospital for postmortem.
A distraught Batuli denied knowledge of marital discord in his son’s home and said it must have been concealed from him.
He says this is unfortunate as the village has so far lost three people who died due to domestic violence.
