President Museveni was represented by Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Ruganda at the burial at the deceased’s ancestral home in Kanungu district, South Western Uganda.

“Death has robbed the family of a great father and a very supportive partner of development. We therefore mourn a great cadre who contributed to the success of our country,” Museveni said in a message read by Rugunda.

He added; “He was a good elder with great wisdom and his counsel shall be greatly missed. I trust that those he has left behind shall emulate his legacy. May his soul rest in peace.”

Enock died on 9th, July at a time when his younger brother, Amama Mbabazi was behind bars at Kiira road Police Station for defying police orders by attempting to travel to Mbale to hold consultative meetings in a bid to prepare his candidature to contest for presidency.

Mbabazi’s aspirations have stirred conflicts within NRM due to Kyankwazi sole candidature resolution which fronted president Museveni as party flag bearer in the 2016 presidential polls.

Enock’s death forced Mbabazi to halt his consultative meetings which were going into the second day on 10th July.

He promised to communicate on the new schedule of the consultative meetings by end of today, Monday.
