Former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi yesterday evening returned presidential nomination forms to the electoral commission after gathering the required signatures.
Presidential aspirants are required to collect 100 signatures from each of the required 77 districts.
The team that delivered his forms was led by the led by the Go Forward Chief of Staff Ms Solome Nakaweesi Kimbugwe.
She was flanked by Legal and Electoral affairs committee, Information Technology committee and Field Operations.
“This evening, the Go Forward team submitted to the National Independent Electoral Commission all documentation for my qualifications for Presidential candidate. They were led by the Go Forward Chief of Staff Ms Solome Nakaweesi Kimbugwe,” Mbabazi posted on his Facebook page yesterday evening
He added; “Others on the team were members of the Legal and Electoral affairs committee, IT committee and Field Operations.”
The former prime won hearts of many TDA (The Democratic Alliance) political parties and eminent persons including DP, Go-Forward Pro-Change (his pressure group), PPP, UFA, and a faction of UPC led by Olara Otunnu and eminent persons including Former Buganda PM Owek Mulwanyamuli, Dr Matembe, Imam Kasozi, Rev. Fr. Gaetano, Rt. Bishop Ocola, Hon Zakari Olum also endorsed Mbabazi among others.
