Minister Mutende Died Natural Death – Rugunda

Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda has said that post-mortem results on body of Hon Dr James Mutende indicate that the departed Minister of State for Trade died of natural causes.

“Results from pathologists who carried out the post-mortem at Mulago National Referral Hospital show that Hon Dr James Mutende died of natural causes,” Rugunda said in a press statement released today morning.

Rugunda noted that Government yesterday constituted a committee chaired by the Minister of Energy Hon Eng. Irene Muloni and deputised by the Minister of State for Trade, Hon David Wakikona, to coordinate burial arrangements.

Other committee members are Hon David Wakikona, Hon Daudi Migereko, Hon James Baba, Hon David Bahati, Hon Barbara Nekesa Oundo, Hon Fr Simon Lokodo, Mr Bernard Mujasi, Hon Rose Namayanja, Hon Simon Mulongo, Hon Rose Mutonyi Hon Michael Welikhe, Hon Dr Steven Chebrot, Hon Jack Wamanga Wamai, Hon Mudimi Wamakuyu

“The committee has been holding meetings with members of the family to make the necessary burial arrangements,” he said.

Rugunda said that the death of Dr Mutende is “a big loss to the country.” Adding; “he was a dedicated patriot who served the people of Uganda with distinction.”

Hon. Matende died on Saturday morning at his home in Makindye, a suburb in Kampala.
