James Nsaba Buturo, the former ethics and integrity minister has been dragged to court by a Financial Services Limited, a money lending firm for alleged failure to pay 50 million shillings. Deus Rutazana, the managing director Financial Services Limited says that Buturo was supposed to clear the debt by April 24th in vain, which has prompted him to resort to courts of law.

However, court documents seen by Our reporter don’t indicate how, when and why Buturo became indebted to the company. Rutazana also accuses the former minister of issuing him three false Stanbic bank cheques between January and April, which were dishonored by the bank because of insufficient funds.

Through Tibaijuka and company advocates, Kampala Financial services wants court to compel Buturo pay the said amount of money with an interest of 2%. Thaddeus Opefeni, the deputy registrar of the commercial court has issued summons requiring Buturo to file his defense within ten days.
