Museveni Hosts Duke of Kent
President Museveni received Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, at State House Entebbe, a State House release says.

The duke arrived in the country last Friday to represent Queen Elizabeth at Uganda’s Independence Golden Jubilee that takes place on Tuesday 9th October 2012. The Jubilee celebrations will run under the theme of “50-year Journey since Independence (1962 – 2012): A Good Foundation for Social and Economic Transformation”
President Museveni and the Duke of Kent discussed issues concerning relations between Uganda and Britain and mediums through which the two countries can partner up to enhance further the efforts geared towards development of Uganda.
Mr. Museveni encouraged more investors from the United Kingdom to come and partner with the government of Uganda particularly in the agro-processing sector that he said has not yet been fully explored.
Prince Edward handed over the instruments of power to former Prime Apollo Milton Obote on 9th October 1962 when Uganda attained independence from 70 years of British colonial administration.
The meeting was attended by the British High Commissioner to Uganda, Alison Blackburne.
