Museveni panting as NRM MPs are thrown out of Parliament
It has emerged that president Museveni is gradually getting into breathless comma as courts of law continue to kick National Resistance Movement (NRM) legislators out of parliament.
On Tuesday, four NRM legislators were kicked out of parliament including Hajat Rehema Watongola (Kamuli municipality), Annet Nyaketcho (Tororo North), Edward Ssembatya (Katikamu South) and Col Charles Okello Engola, the minister of state for Defence and NRM MP for Oyam North, bringing the number of party legislators kicked out of parliament to 11.
Party General Secretary Ms Kasule Lumumba told a local TV yesterday that as NRM chairman, president Museveni is concerned.
“It’s automatic, he is a human being, he is a politician, he knows the implication,” Lumumba said when asked whether president Museveni is concerned.
“We are in politics where so numerical strength whether in parliament or local councils is very important and one vote can cause a problem.”
Lumumba said NRM accepts responsibility for the situation it finds itself in because they selected the candidates to run for these positions.
Majority of NRM legislators won parliamentary elections, however, the surging number of party legislators kicked out of parliament gives FDC a chance to bolster its numerical strength.
