Najjera Woman burns maid with flat iron, hot water

Sheila Matsiko a resident of Najjera in Kira municipality, Wakiso district has been arrested on allegations of aggravated trafficking and torturing her housemaid who has been identified as Agnes Nakintu, a 14-year-old.

Sheila is currently held at Kira Division Police station amidst investigations.

According to our source at Kira Division, Sheila was netted this morning from her home after the young girl reported her. Source also informs us that Agnes started working at Sheila’s home as a maid in the month of February.

This was after Sheila contacted her friend only identified as Ann who resides in Kiboga town to get her a maid. Anna managed to get in touch with Agnes’s mother identified as Mary Nakanzi to allow her to send the victim to Kampala to work as a maid at her friend’s house.

The mother accepted and sent Agnes to Kampala and joined Sheila’s family.

Source also tells us on reporting to Police, Agnes revealed that she has been going through torture to an extent of being beaten, burnt with flat iron and hot water. On top of that she alleges that her boss Sheila hasn’t been paying her monthly salary of shs100,000 the two had agreed on.

Police at Kira Division says that the child has since been examined and that it has been established that she was tortured due to the wounds visible on her body.

Police is also trying to get in touch with Agnes’s parents.
