Shot stopper Bwete Brian has immediately joined his teams at Uganda Cup winners URA FC as they take on Simba SC of Tanzania in a Pre-season friendly today in Dar-es-salaam at 4pm.

The 22-year-old ‘Zigi’ Bwete’s potency has earned him numerous national team call-ups including Wednesday’s 2-0 2015 Nations Cup qualifying win over Guinea.

 

Bwete, who is URA’s captain, was instrumental in the team’s quest for the Uganda Cup especially in the final against league champions KCC FC. He stopped Gaddafi Kiwanuka and Herman Wasswa’s shots before he himself scored a beautiful goal to help his side to a place in the CAF Confederations Cup next season.

“I’m delighted we have been able to secure a friendly match against Simba to finalize our preparations for ahead of our season,” Alex Isabirye, URA FC Coach added.

“Our aim is to become the best team this season and we shall test ourselves with a big team like Simba to see how prepared we are. Zigi is also here and will play a big role in the game.”

A contingent of 17 Players, 5 club officials led by Team Manager Edson Bajenja traveled to Dar-es-Salaam, this Thursday evening by Rwanda Air.
