NRM’s Sanjay Tanna Flags off Bugisu PLU Vote Mobilization Drive for President Museveni

Patriotic League of Uganda Eastern Region Coordinator, Hon, Sanjay Tanna has flagged off the Bugisu Chapter mobilization drive for President Museveni’s vote-2026.

Hon. Sanjay Tanna who leads the PLU Mobilization Team in Eastern Uganda under the, “Tuko Pamoja” theme, met the Bugisu Sub region coordinators at Court’s View Hotel, in Mbale City on Thursday, 30^th October, 2025 in his first regional mobilization tour.

Hon. Tanna urged the coordinators to embark on a vigorous mobilization campaign for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ahead of the 2026 general elections, ensuring that the NRM secures a resounding victory across the Bugisu Sub-Region.

“I did not begin my meetings in Bugisu by chance,” he remarked adding that, “This is my home, and I understand the political dynamics here. Despite the challenge that Bugisu has a presidential candidate, our duty remains clear, to sensitize the people door-to-door and remind them that President Museveni is the tested and trusted leader Uganda needs beyond 2026.”

Present in the meeting were; Vincent Woboya, the Bugisu region sub coordinator and his deputy, Hajji Isma Welujjo, Rita Namuwenge, Mbale City coordinator, Aziz Abudallah, (Mmeber Mbale City Team), Dr. Waburoko Dominic, Bududa coordinator, and Rwakubera Hope, coordinator Mbale District.

In his address, Hon. Tanna warmly congratulated the Bugisu coordinators upon their appointment, commending them for their loyalty, diligence, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the National Resistance Movement (NRM). He emphasized that their selection was not a matter of coincidence, but rather a recognition of their patriotism and dedication to advancing the NRM vision at the grassroots.

The meeting marked the beginning of a renewed spirit of coordination, unity, and strategic mobilization among PLU leaders in Bugisu, signaling a strong foundation for NRM’s continued dominance in the Eastern region.

Sanjay Tanna will be in Bukedi for his next assignment of flagging off sub-regional teams.

Speaking to this Publication on the sidelines of the meeting, Sanjay Tanna said he was confident of leading PLU to re-inforce the NRM efforts of securing a landslide victory for President Museveni.

“This is a familiar terrain for me having canvassed for the President votes in the 2021 general elections amidst the NUP wave, and we did very well eventually,” he said.
