Kenneth “Mr Bad News” Odeke has parted ways with his long-term business manager Emmanuel Mwesigwa by mutual consent.

Mwesigwa, an official of Big Strikers has been a central figure in Odeke’s management team since the 22-year-old turned professional.

Kenneth Odeke departs the Sports Management and promoting firm after what he calls mismanagement.

“I would like to sincerely thank Mwesigwa for all his hard work and wish him the very best for the future,” Odeke said.

Odeke won three big fights while working alongside Mwesigwa, but lost his World Boxing Forum (WBF) Africa title fight on August 8 to Iranian Sayed Abbas Nasib.

The prize fighter’s non-title bout with Hudson Muhumuza slotted for next week now hangs in balance now that he has spilt with the organisers.

Mwesigwa has been criticised in the past for way he has handled Odeke’s business affairs, most notably by Uganda Professional Boxing Commission (UPBC) who are involved in a cat-fight with Big Strikers leaning UPBF. Odeke claims Mwesigwa never paid him arrears for Sayed Nasib fight.

“It’s true I’ve not yet cleared Odeke’s dues because the revenue was too bad,” Mwesigwa told RED Pepper.

“But for the time I’ve worked with Odeke, he knows how trustworthy I’m. We shall give him the money as fast as we get it.

“Mwesigwa worked so hard to promote my career. I enjoyed working with them and plan to remain in boxing as I explore new exciting ventures,” Odeke
